First Look: A Sneak Peek At The New Spring 2019 Collection!
Spring is a time of re-birth and that extends to our wardrobes. What’s more exciting than the prospect of new clothes and warmer days ahead? The spring 2019 collection is inspired by my trip to Rome, Italy. The colors, inspired by natural materials, are meant to invoke the feeling of walking through a hillside villa.
Marble and granite are the materials used in many of the sculptures you see at famous museums, and these beautiful heathered jersey fabrics are the perfect neutrals to add to your wardrobe. Cyprus is inspired by the trees that line palatial drives and is a gorgeous, rich shade of green that is very wearable. I’ve introduced stripes into the collection this season, which are inspired by Renaissance columns. You have two to choose from, the classic cloud/black or the limoncello stripe, which has a fun hint of pale yellow mixed with heather grey.
There is also a new fabric for 2019, a rayon/lycra rib jersey. Adding a bit of texture to the line, the rib fabric is sophisticated and easy to wear. It’s used in two shapes –the new Persephone Wrap Dress and the Leila Wrap Top.
The wrap dress is just as appropriate for the office as it is for walking along a palazzo, and the top, paired with our new Amelie pants (a 2” longer answer to our best selling Aida pants) is ease and comfort at it’s best. I’ve also brought back my best selling Bella Cardigan and Savannah Pants.
